Science is Cool

The science of baking is something that I find particularly fascinating. I vividly recall being about 11 years old and making cookie dough with my friend. We were out of baking soda, and I thought "well, you only need a teaspoon so it can't be that big of a deal." Wrong. The cookies were a complete disaster - flat globs of goo. Mind you, the dough tasted delicious, so it wasn't a complete fail. Anyway, that was the day I learned what a leavening agent is and the importance of that little teaspoon. This wonderful Ted Talk video explains the science behind baking cookies, and I thought I'd share it. Enjoy!
